Not only that, but Tetra doesn't sell just the frames. I know, I asked. I have 3 aquariums that use Whisper aquarium filters. I figured that if you are going to use 'consumables', you might as well use the same kind for all of them, right? Then if you need to buy supplies, you don't have to worry about if you are getting the right ones for the right filter.
The problem is, I like to have the replacement filter bags all ready for the change, so I just pull out the old ones, and slip in the new. Only thing is, when you buy the filters, you don't get enough of the frames for that. One of my Whisper filters takes 4 bags, and the other two Whisper filters take 2 bags each. That's 8 bags each filter change!! I 'bout went nuts!
I have
just the thing for you. Over the years now, I have built up my 'stock' of Bio Bag filter bag frames. The supplies you buy come with one frame in each box,
so you know how long it has taken me to acquire all of these frames!
And, I'll be honest
with you. Some of them DO have mineral deposits on them up at the top
flap. I scraped
the most of it off with a dull bladed pocket knife, and they are all washed and
dis-infected, so they are ready to go in your aquarium.
I have
mostly black frames, with a couple of the blue ones they have started putting in
the boxes lately. These are all the size 'large', and fit the Whisper 3
and 4, or Whisper 30, 40 and 60 filters. They will not fit the Whisper
Junior or the ones that take the Extra Large. These used to
be called regular sized, when the junior was called small and the extra large
was called large. There, is that confusing enough for you [grin]? These all come with
the clip - isn't it amazing how easy it is to lose that d**n silly
little clip? They have a tendency to be a beast to put on, and to go
flying off when you try to remove them! See

I checked, and I can
easily get 10 of these into a flat-rate priority mail envelope, and with some
work, maybe as many as 15 of them for the priority envelope flat
rate, if you want/need a bunch of them.
